The history of Watz Hydraulik GmbH

WATZ Hydraulik - efficient power transmission for almost 40 years. Since 1971 we have been developing and producing highly efficient hydraulic drive systems in Lollar in the state of Hesse. Not long after we established our company, we began to focus our business on the construction and manufacture of hydraulic systems. Both custom solutions and series production have formed the basis of our success from the beginning. FAUDI GmbH, based in Stadtallendorf in the state of Hesse, has been a part of the WATZ Group since 2006. WATZ acquired the well-established company, a specialist in filtration plant construction, and got it back on track in record time. Today both companies work successfully together on many levels.

1978:   The business changes its legal form and becomes Horst Watz GmbH. Horst Watz GmbH has a staff of 5 employees. The growth of the young business requires relocation to a larger manufacturing plant. The company moves to neighboring Daubringen.

1979:   Horst Watz GmbH undertakes its first contracts outside Germany and supplies a complete hydraulic drive unit for oil production.

1981:   The business is represented at international trade fairs and expands its customer base outside Germany.

1985:   Watz moves its headquarters to Lollar. The production conditions and traffic infrastructure in Staufenberg-Daubringen are not longer suitable for the company

1991:   Watz wins a large commission from the Volkswagen plant for a VW Golf production line.

1996:   First expansion of production capacity. The new administration buildings including a Parker Store are officially opened on the site in Lollar on 1 April 1996

2002:   Second expansion of production capacity

2004:   Large commission for the A3 autobahn section to Aschaffenburg.

2005:   New product range: hydraulic briquette press for the metal working industry

2006:   Acquisition of filtration plant specialist FAUDI GmbH in Stadtallendorf

2008:   For his influence, and particularly for the spectacular takeover and rescue of FAUDI GmbH, Horst Watz is awarded a prize for entrepreneurial inspiration by Christian Wulff, Minister-President of Lower Saxony

2009:   Opening of the service center in NRW as a branch of Watz Hydraulik GmbH

2011:   40th Anniversary of Watz Hydraulik GmbH
